Real people living with ALS

The ice bucket challenge has been globally recognized over the past  one to two weeks. This initiative is an effective strategy to create awareness about the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).  It is also known as the Lou Gehrig’s Disease, a degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. More than 5,600 people are diagnosed with ALS every year  and up to 30,000 are currently living with ALS in the US. This disease eventually leads to total paralysis. This video features a young man’s experience with ALS as it runs in his family.  The ALS Association is making effort to create awareness and more importantly raise funds toward the treatment of this disease.  Please share and educate people about ALS. Visit http://www.alsa.org/about-als/ for more information regarding ALS and to donate.
